Cigars are grouped into the following categories in this website:
Current Production Cigars
Current production cigars are standard cigars that are in regular factory production and are commercially available on a continuing basis.

Discontinued Production Cigars
Discontinued production cigars are standard cigars that have been officially confirmed by Habanos SA as discontinued.
For older cigars, the date shown as discontinued does not necessarily indicate commercial availability up to that time, as many
of these cigars ceased being made long before being officially discontinued.
Recently discontinued cigars tend to remain commercially available for only a short time. Some cigars discontinued around 2002/3 have appeared with a box code a year after the date the cigar was
officially cancelled, as the cigars were not boxed until later.
Many discontinued cigars can be obtained (at a premium) in the vintage cigar market.

Special Release Cigars
Special Release cigars are special production releases for an annual series or for a once-off commemorative release. They are usually distinguished by new vitolas, different packaging, different
or additional bands, the use of specially aged tobacco, etc.
They are generally available short term, in limited quantities, and at a premium price.

Significant Release and Event Cigars
This category has been included to allow the addition of cigars
that do not fall into any of the above categories but are
significant enough to include in the website. This can
include diplomatic cigars, significant special event cigars, and
the like.
Unlisted Cigars
As a general rule.......non-commercial cigars, pre-production cigars, special commissions for a particular dealer, sample packs, regional travel humidors, mini cigars, cigarettes, and the like.......are not
listed on this website.
